Strategic Leadership Workshop
Build Leaders Who Can Think Strategically, Lead Decisively and Drive Organisational Results
In today’s fast-changing business environment, leaders need more than operational excellence. They must be able to think ahead, make sound decisions, align teams, manage uncertainty and translate strategy into meaningful action.
ODC’s Strategic Leadership Workshop is designed to equip leaders and managers with practical strategic leadership capabilities to lead with clarity, confidence and purpose. Through experiential learning, facilitated discussions, case-based activities and workplace application exercises, participants will learn how to connect organisational direction with leadership action and team execution.
Every organisation operates within its own realities. Industry demands, market conditions, company culture, business priorities and manpower readiness all influence the leadership challenges that leaders face. Because of this, ODC adopts a tailored approach to customise the learning experience around your organisation’s specific needs, challenges and desired outcomes.
Why Strategic Leadership Matters
Strategic leadership enables leaders to look beyond day-to-day operations and understand how their decisions, priorities and actions contribute to long-term organisational success.
Effective strategic leaders are able to understand business direction, translate strategy into team priorities, make better decisions in complex situations, align stakeholders, manage change and guide their teams towards meaningful results.
When leaders are equipped with strategic leadership skills, they become better able to guide their teams through uncertainty, strengthen organisational performance and support sustainable growth.

Pre-Work to Strategic Leadership Workshop
ODC recognises that strategic leadership development should not be delivered as a generic, one-size-fits-all programme. Different organisations face different challenges depending on their industry, market environment, stage of growth, organisational culture, leadership maturity and workforce readiness.
Our approach begins with understanding your organisation’s context before designing the learning experience. This allows us to customise the workshop so that participants do not only learn strategic leadership concepts, but are also able to apply them to real workplace situations that matter to your organisation.
1. Identify Strategic Leadership Focus Areas
ODC works closely with the organisation to understand its current business context, leadership priorities and desired outcomes. This helps us identify the most relevant strategic leadership focus areas for the workshop.
These may include strategic thinking, decision-making, stakeholder alignment, change leadership, execution discipline, innovation, risk awareness, business agility or cross-functional collaboration.
2. Conduct Key Stakeholder Interviews
Where required, ODC may conduct interviews or consultation sessions with key stakeholders such as senior leaders, HR teams, business heads or selected managers. These conversations help us gain deeper insights into the organisation’s leadership expectations, workplace realities, capability gaps and the specific challenges that leaders are expected to address.
3. Analyse Feedback and Recommend Learning Priorities
ODC reviews and analyses the feedback gathered from the consultation process to identify common themes, leadership gaps, organisational priorities and practical workplace challenges.
Based on these insights, we provide recommendations to the client on the proposed learning priorities, workshop emphasis and key areas of focus. This ensures that the programme design is grounded in actual organisational needs and aligned with the outcomes the organisation wants to achieve.
4. Design the Programme and Facilitation Approach
Based on the agreed learning needs and recommended focus areas, ODC designs a customised programme structure, learning flow and facilitation approach.
This may include contextualised case studies, relevant workplace scenarios, strategic leadership discussions, group activities, decision-making tools, stakeholder mapping exercises and action-planning activities that reflect the organisation’s operating environment.
5. Deliver an Engaging and Practical Workshop
The workshop is facilitated using a practical and interactive approach to encourage reflection, discussion and application.Participants are guided to connect strategic leadership concepts to their own roles, teams and business challenges. This helps them build greater confidence in applying strategic thinking, decision-making and leadership actions back at work.
6. Provide Post-Workshop Follow-Up
To support learning transfer, ODC can provide post-workshop follow-up activities such as action plan reviews, reflection questions, leadership check-ins, group sharing sessions or recommendations for continued development.
This helps reinforce key learning points and encourages participants to apply their strategic leadership commitments beyond the workshop.
Recommended Focus Areas for the Strategic Leadership Workshop

While each workshop can be customised to the organisation’s needs, ODC recommends the following focus areas as a strong foundation for strategic leadership development.
1. Strategic Thinking and Business Alignment
Participants will learn how to understand organisational direction, interpret business priorities and connect strategic objectives with team-level execution. This helps leaders align their decisions, actions and team priorities with the broader goals of the organisation.
2. Decision-Making in Complex Situations
The workshop introduces practical decision-making approaches to help leaders evaluate options, consider risks, balance short-term and long-term priorities, and make more informed decisions under uncertainty.
3. Stakeholder Engagement and Influence
Strategic leaders need to work across functions, levels and teams. Participants will explore how to identify key stakeholders, understand different perspectives, build alignment and influence others more effectively.
4. Leading Change and Driving Execution
Participants will learn how to communicate direction clearly, lead change conversations, overcome resistance and guide teams towards implementation. Emphasis is placed on converting strategy into practical actions and measurable outcomes.
5. Risk Awareness and Strategic Agility
The workshop helps leaders recognise potential risks, anticipate challenges and adapt their leadership approach in response to changing business conditions. Participants will explore how to remain agile while staying focused on strategic priorities.
