INTRODUCTION

This 2-day programme aims to equip the learners with the skillsets to lead team leaders in the development of business unit strategies, operational plans and corporate governance management to meet organizational needs. It also includes providing direction and guidance to team leaders through regular engagement, modelling of leadership and expected behaviours.

KEY COMPETENCIES

The programme focuses on three core competencies of leadership:

Department Manager, Manager and High Potential Executive who has potential to play the role of a Change Agent or to Lead Change within the organization.

            

WSQ PROFESSIONAL DIPLOMA IN LEADERSHIP AND PEOPLE MANAGEMENT

Learners who are certified ‘Competent’ at the end of the course will receive a Statement of Attainment (SOA) under the WSQ LPM framework. There are six Competency Units (CUs) within Level 4 under the LPM framework, namely People Development, People Change Management, Personal Effectiveness, Organisational Relationship Building, Vision Leadership, and People and Performance Management. Learners will be able to attain the WSQ Professional Diploma in Leadership and People Management once they have attained the SOAs for all six CUs above and SOAs for two elective CUs (WSQ Levels 3-5).

ABOUT LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT UNDER SINGAPORE WORKFORCE SKILLS QUALIFICATIONS 

The Leadership & People Management (WSQ LPM) qualifications under Singapore Workforce Skills Qualifications (WSQ) is a national credential system that trains, develops, assesses and certifies skills and competencies for the workforce. As a continuing education and training (CET) system, WSQ supports the SkillsFuture movement to:

  • Promote recognition of skills and competencies to facilitate progression, mastery and mobility;

  • Promote holistic development of the workforce through technical and generic skills and competencies;

  • Support economic development by professionalising skills and competencies to drive industry transformation, productivity and innovation efforts; and

  • Encourage lifelong learning.

Training programmes developed under the WSQ system are based on skills and competencies validated by employers, unions and professional bodies. This process ensures existing and emerging skills and competencies that are in demand are used to inform training and development under WSQ. With the roll out of the Skills Frameworks in 2016, the WSQ adopts the skills and competencies covered in the Skills Frameworks. The WSQ programmes are funded and quality-assured by SkillsFuture Singapore, which awards the WSQ certifications.
