This leadership development programme provides new, emerging, and transitioning leaders with a practical overview of the essential mindset and skills required to lead teams effectively.

The course focuses on the key transition from individual contributor to people leader, covering important areas such as leadership behaviours, communication, rapport building, goal setting, performance management, feedback, and people development.

Through practical activities, DiSC profiling, role plays, and a team challenge, participants will gain greater awareness of their leadership style and learn how to better engage, guide, and support their team members. The programme is designed to help organisations strengthen leadership capability, improve team performance, and build a stronger pipeline of confident people leaders.

MODULE 1 : THE LEADERSHIP JOURNEY

From Perfomer to People Leader

Leadership begins with an important shift in mindset — from being responsible for one’s own performance to leading and enabling the performance of others.

 

This module helps participants understand the key transitions in their leadership journey, including their role in shaping team performance, developing capabilities, and representing the organisation through values-aligned leadership behaviours.

MODULE 2 : ESSENTIAL COMMUNICATION & RAPPORT BUILDING SKILLS

Communicating with Awareness and Building Trust

Effective leadership requires the ability to connect with different people and adapt communication styles accordingly. Using DiSC as a foundation, this module helps participants understand behavioural traits, recognise strengths and development areas, and apply practical rapport-building techniques to improve communication and workplace relationships.

MODULE 3 : PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT

This module introduces participants to the key elements of performance, including ability and attitude, and provides a practical three-step approach to setting expectations, monitoring progress, adapting management styles, and developing team capabilities.

MODULE 4 : PEOPLE DEVELOPMENT

This module helps participants understand how to support the growth of team members through Individual Development Plans, the 70/20/10 development approach, and constructive performance feedback. Participants will also practise applying feedback skills through role-play scenarios to strengthen workplace application.

MODULE 5 : TEAM CHALLENGE

Participants will apply key learning points from the programme in a practical and engaging team-based challenge.

This course adopts a practical and interactive learning approach to help new, emerging, and transitioning leaders translate essential leadership concepts into workplace application. The workshop combines short lectures, facilitated group discussions, presentations, DiSC profiling, role-play practice, and team-based activities to strengthen both self-awareness and practical leadership skills.

DiSC is incorporated as part of the learning experience to help participants better understand their behavioural preferences, communication styles, strengths, and development areas. These insights provide a useful foundation for leaders to adapt their communication, build rapport, engage different team members, and strengthen workplace relationships.

​

Participants will also be introduced to practical frameworks and tools in areas such as leadership transitions, goal setting, performance management, feedback, and people development. Through guided discussions, workplace scenarios, role-play practice, and a summative team challenge, participants will have opportunities to apply their learning in realistic situations. With facilitation support and feedback, participants will build greater confidence in leading teams, managing performance, developing people, and demonstrating leadership behaviours aligned with organisational values.
